In December, Sarah’s website had 72,000 visitors. In December of the previous year it has 51,500 visitors. Find the percentage of increase to the nearest tenth of a percent in the numbers of visitors her website had for that year.

Answer: 39.8% more

Explanation:

She had 51500 visitors first and then she had 72000 so if we set up a proportion we can do 51500 over 100 (because that’s the percent the first time) is equal too 72000 over x and when we find x we get 139.805. That’s 39.805 more than 100 and if you round it you get 39.8
