7) 4x-10=5x-50. Opposite angles by the vertex
4x-5x=-50+10
-x=-40
X=40

8). X+30 +3x+10 =180 angles on the same line
4x +40=180
4x=180-40
4x=140
X=140/4
X=35

Answer:

x = 40 and x = 35

Explanation:

Assuming you want to solve for x

7

5x - 50 and 4x - 10 are vertically opposite angles and are congruent (equal) , then

5x - 50 = 4x - 10 ( subtract 4x from both sides )

x - 50 = - 10 ( add 50 to both sides )

x = 40

8

x + 30 and 3x + 10 lie on a straight line and form a linear pair which sums to 180°

sum the 2 angles, equate to 180 and solve for x

x + 30 + 3x + 10 = 180 ( collect like terms on left side )

4x + 40 = 180 ( subtract 40 from both sides )

4x = 140 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 35
