Solving a system of equations we can see that:
A fishing reel costs B/ 35
A fishing rod costs B/ 40
How to find the price of each article?
Let's say that the price of a rod is x, and the price of a fishing reel is y.
First, 2 fishing reel and 5 rods cost B/ 270
And 4 fishing reel and 2 rods cost B/ 220
Then we can write a system of equations:
2y + 5x = 270
4y + 2x = 220
First we can isolate 2y in the first equation:
2y = 270 - 5x
Replacing that in the second equation:
4y + 2x = 220
2*(2y) + 2x = 220
2*(270 - 5x) + 2x = 220
540 - 10x + 2x = 220
540 - 8x = 220
540 - 220 = 8x
320 = 8x
320/8 = x
x = 40
Then the value of y is:
2y = 270 - 5*40
y = (270 - 200)/2
y = 35
These are the prices.
