it is found experimintally that it a street surface is dry, a good drives can safely deccelerate an automobile with reasonably good tires at the rate of about 4.57m/s^2 .so for a car moving at 6okm/hr. What should be theminimum distance between two cars. so that they can't crash during a sudden stop?

Answer: 30.4 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given variables:

a=4.57m/s*2

initial velocity = 60 km/hr = 16.67 m/s

final velocity = 0 m/s

using the kinematics formula v*2=u*2+2as we can calculate the distance

s is what we are calculating for.

1. plug the variables into the formula: 0*2 = 16.67*2 + 2(4.57)s

2. isolate s:

0=277.89+9.14s

-277.89 = 9.14s

s= -30.403

s= 30.4 m, since distance can't be negative we remove the negative sign.
