a) Since the two forces are action and reaction, they constitute a third law pair.

b) The net force is √
(FBC - FCB)^2 + (FHC + FCG - FGC)^2

c) The cart will stay still and have zero acceleration and velocity if the FHC is removed since all forces are perfectly balanced.

How do we talk of the net force?

The vector total of all the individual forces exerted on an object is known as the net force. Stated differently, the force that affects an object's motion or equilibrium is its total force.

As we try to obtain the net force of the system, we know that;

Looking in y- direction; FBC - FCB

Looking in x - direction; FHC + FCG - FGC

Net force = √
(FBC - FCB)^2 + (FHC + FCG - FGC)^2
