Jackson, Christabelle and Janessa have $438. Jackson has 3 times as much money as Christabelle. Janessa has $263 more than Jackson. How much money does Jackson have?

Let the amount of money Christabelle has = x

Let the amount of money Jackson has = 3x

and the amount of money Janessa has= 3x+ 263

Such that the total money they all have which = $438 be expressed as

Christabelle's money +Jackson's money + Janessa's money= $438

x+ 3x+ 3x+ 263 = 438

Step 2 ---Solving

x+ 3x+ 3x+ 263=438

7x= 438-263

7x=175

x =175/7

x=25

Therefore,

Christabelle = $25

Jackson = 3x= 3 x25 = $75

Janessa= 3x+ 263= $75+263=$338
