Using a trigonometric relation we can see that x = 4.5
How to find the value of x?
Here we can see a right triangle, where we know the lenght of the hypotenuse, an angle, and we want to find the value of the adjacent cathetus of that angle.
Remember the relation:
cos(angle) = (adjacent cathetus)/hypotenuse
Then we can replace the things that we know:
cos(60°) = x/9
Solving for x:
x = 9*cos(60°)
x = 4.5
