She spent $8.45

Explanation: She bought one coffee for 3.95 + 2.50 + 1.25r = T
(r = refills)(T = Total)

To solve this equation we first add the cost of her bagel and coffee.
3.95 + 2.50 = 6.45

Next we multiply 1.25 by 2 because she got 2 refills so r = 2
1.25(2) = 2.5

Now we add her total of the coffee and bagel plus the coat of the refills.
6.45 + 2.5 = 8.95

This isn’t out total though since we can also see that she got a discount of 0.50 cents.

So now we take her total and subtract it by the discount.
8.95 - 0.50 = 8.45
Therefore giving us her final total of $8.45

Answer:

1st cup: $3.95

2 refills: 2*1.25=2.5

1 bagel: $2.50

expense: $8.95

As part of the rewards program, she received a $0.50 discount.

in total, Jalissa's mother spent 8.95-0.5 = $8.45
