The exterior angle ∠QRS is equal to the sum of the other 2 angles in the triangle (excluding its supplement), ∠RPQ + ∠PQR.

This will give us the equation :

7x + 7 = x + 12 + 3x + 13

Simplify

7x + 7 = 4x + 25

Subtract 4x on both sides

3x + 7 = 25

Subtract 7 on both sides

3x = 18

x = 6

To find m∠RPQ, substitute x in for x + 12.

x + 12 = ?

6 + 12 = 18

m∠RPQ = 18°
