The triangle solved for x and y are x = 18 and y = 54

How to solve the triangle for x and y

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

The triangle

The sum of angles in a right triangle is 180 degrees

Using the above as a guide, we have the following:

2y + y + 2x = 180

x + 180 - 2y = 90

So, we have

3y + 2x = 180

x - 2y = -90

This gives

3y + 2y - 90 = 180

5y = 270

y = 54

So, we have

x - 2 * 54 = -90

x = 18

Hence, the triangle for x and y are x = 18 and y = 54
