The value of x in the triangle given is 5.7

How to determine the value of x

Using the concept of Trigonometry ;

Cosine(θ) = Adjacent / Hypotenus

From the triangle given;

θ = 45°

Adjacent side to θ = x

Hypotenus = 8

Inputting our parameters into the formula;

Cos 45 = x / 8

cross multiply

x = 8 × (Cos(45))

x = 8 × 0.7071

x = 5.65

Hence, the value of x is 5.7 (to the nearest tenth)
