Explain why the biodegradation of plastic might be more hazardous the the environment

The reason the biodegradation of plastic in the environment might be more hazardous is because when the plastic is broken down into the smaller particles, they are harder to clean up and can spread and scatter all across the environment. Plastics going into the soil could lead to many problems since most of the worlds easily obtainable fresh water is ground water.
