In systems handling high-pressure oxygen, brass and copper materials should not be used in the interconnecting hose.
In systems intended to handle oxygen at pressure greater than 350 psi, the interconnecting hose should not contain materials that can react with or ignite oxygen under high pressure. The materials that should not be used are brass and copper. This is because brass and copper can undergo combustion or oxidative reactions when exposed to high-pressure oxygen. In such cases, polymeric and stainless steel materials are recommended for use.
