1) translation of 3 units to the right and 3 units down.

2) It is not a translation.

How to identify a translation?

Remember that a translation only moves the graph, it does not change the size nor the orientation of the figure.

For example, in the diagram number 2 we can see that the orientation of the two triangles is different, so there we don't have a translation.

Now for diagram 1, to identify the translation just compare equivalent vertices:

A = (-2, 4)

A' = (1, 1)

The difference gives:

A' - A = (1, 1) - (-2, 4) = (1 + 2, 1 - 4) = (3, -3)

This is a translation of 3 units to the right and 3 units down.
