1. The scale factor (k) = 2/3

2. The value of y = 3

What is scale factor?

The scale factor is the ratio between corresponding lengths of two similar figures.

It determines how much the dimensions of one figure need to be multiplied or divided to obtain the other, preserving the proportional relationship between corresponding parts.

scale factor is expressed as;

scale factor = dimension of new length/dimension of old length

1. therefore, the scale factor of the figure

= 2/3

2. The value of y

= 2/3 = 2/y

2y = 6

y = 6/2 = 3
