HELP I WILL LITERALLY LOVE YOU FOREVER IF YOU ANSWER THIS

What is genre? Genre, in short, is where your work fits into the literary landscape. When it comes to nonfiction, it's pretty simple: you are telling a factual tale. However, we like to divide fiction up into groups. We will discuss four main groups: Young Adult, Speculative, Romance, and Contemporary. Although these are our pillars, they can be blended, and we will talk more about this when we get to our fiction section later on in the year. For now, let's put a loose definition to these terms.

Young Adult, or YA fiction, generally refers to fiction that is written for teens to early twenties. Speculative fiction covers everything from mystery to science fiction to fantasy and more! This genre has so many possibilites, but to put it in simpler terms, this type of fiction is relatable in some way while clearly being outside of our realm of reality. Romance or romantic fiction is in the title: this type of fiction is one of the most widely consumed and deals with passion and love. Finally, contemporary fiction shines light or perspective within our own existence through fiction to show things about the human experience.

In a paragraph or two, please tell me which genre you think you would write in and why!

I would lean towards speculative fiction. Its broad scope allows for creative exploration beyond the confines of reality, offering the freedom to delve into imaginative realms, whether that involves mysteries, science fiction, or fantasy. Speculative fiction enables me to craft narratives that push the boundaries of what is possible, yet retain a relatable core. This genre's versatility provides a platform to address societal themes, explore the human condition, and captivate readers with the allure of the unknown.

I think I would lean towards writing in the speculative fiction genre. I love the idea of exploring mysteries, science fiction, and fantasy. It allows for endless possibilities and lets me create worlds and stories that are outside of our everyday reality. Plus, I enjoy the challenge of making these imaginative stories relatable in some way to readers. It's like taking them on an exciting adventure beyond our world.
