Sandy placed a bucket outside when it began to rain. As the rain fell, Sandy measured the depth, in centimeters (cm), of rain in the bucket. After 20 minutes, she measured 3 cm. of rain in the bucket. After 30 minutes, she measured 4.2 cm. of rain in the bucket. The rain continued to fall at the same constant rate. Sandy graphed a line to represent the rainfall.

Sandy's measurements show that the depth of rain in the bucket increased by 1.2 cm in 10 minutes. This means that the rate of rainfall is constant at 0.12 cm per minute. Sandy's graph would show a straight line with a positive slope representing the constant rate of rainfall.
