Why was slavery not abolished (made illegal) in the writing of the U.S. Constitution? Do you agree with Franklin in this decision? Why or why not?

At the time of writing the constitution, all of America’s founding fathers were slave owners, so if they abolished it, they would have no one to take care of their plantations. I disagree with this decision because the enslavement of African Americans lead to centuries of racism in the US. The working conditions were terrible, they were paid little to nothing, and spent most of their lives doing it. That is why slavery is wrong and the choice to not abolish it was also wrong.

Answer:

It was up to each state on whether to abolish or not. I think he should have abolished it. Slavery is not good because alot of African Americans were harmed
