the given points are

(x1 , y1) = (-1 , -5) and ()x2, y2) = (1 , -1)

the slope of the line is given as follows,

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)
\begin{gathered} m=(-1-(-5))/(1-(-1)) \\ m=(-1+5)/(1+1)=(4)/(2)=2 \end{gathered}

so the slope is m = 2
