Reflection on Quarter 1 in English

During the first quarter of my 8th grade year in English class, I was able to engage in critical thinking by analyzing literature and forming my own interpretations. For example, I critically analyzed the themes in the novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and wrote an essay exploring the symbolism of the mockingbird.

This quarter, my goal is to improve my writing skills. To achieve this, I will dedicate more time to planning and revising my essays, seek feedback from my teacher, and read more literature to enhance my vocabulary and writing style.

My goal for this next quarter is to achieve a higher grade in English by consistently completing assignments on time, participating actively in class discussions, and seeking help when needed. By staying organized, managing my time effectively, and actively engaging with the material, I am confident that I can continue to be successful in English.
