4x - 4x + 3y = 4x + 12

3y = 4x + 12 Divide all the way through by 3

3y/3 = 4x/3 + 12/3

y = 4/3 x + 4

The slope is the number before the x 4/3

You can see in the graph that the line crosses the y axis at 4. If you start at the point (-3,0) and go up 4 units and right 3 units, you will be at the point (0,4). The slope is the pattern of up 4 and right 3.
