2 sons. Find the share of each such that each son gets twice of her
sister's share.

y = each son's share

6x+2y=240,000

we know that each boy receives double the share of a girl=

y = 2x

replace y by 2x in 6x+2y=240,000

6x+2(2x)= 240,000

6x+4x= 240,000

10x=240 000

x=24 000

each girl receives 24,000 rupees

each boy receives 48000 rupees

check:

6*24000+2*48000=240 000
