An equation either has one solution, infinite or zero.

For infinite solutions, the 2 lines or equations are basically, the same and the lines are overlapping.

Ex: y= 3x+1 and y=3x+1

For zero solutions the lines are parallel and therefore the 2 lines have the same slope and different y-intercepts.

Ex: y=3x+1 and y=3x+5

Now if you look at the question it is asking about y=1/2x-1 and y=-3/4x+4.

Since they aren't the same equation or the same slope, it leaves the answer to 1 solution.
