Answer: (fiction)

I was always a lazy student. I hated doing homework, studying for tests, or attending classes. I preferred to spend my time playing video games, watching TV, or hanging out with my friends. I thought school was boring and pointless, and I didn't care about my grades or my future.

My parents were worried about me, but they didn't know how to help me. They tried to motivate me with rewards, punishments, lectures, and advice, but nothing worked. I ignored them and continued to do whatever I wanted. I thought I was smart enough to get by without working hard, and I didn't need anyone to tell me what to do.

That was until I met Mr. Lee, my math teacher in tenth grade. He was different from any other teacher I had before. He was strict, demanding, and challenging. He gave us a lot of homework, quizzes, and projects, and he expected us to complete them on time and with quality. He didn't tolerate any excuses, distractions, or complaints. He was also fair, supportive, and inspiring. He taught us not only math, but also life skills, such as responsibility, perseverance, and self-discipline. He showed us how math could be fun, interesting, and useful, and how it could help us achieve our goals and dreams.

At first, I hated Mr. Lee. I thought he was too harsh, too boring, and too annoying. I tried to avoid his class, skip his assignments, and cheat on his tests. But he always caught me, and he always gave me consequences. He didn't let me get away with anything, and he didn't give up on me. He challenged me to do better, to work harder, and to improve myself. He made me realize that I was wasting my potential, and that I could do so much more if I applied myself.

Gradually, I started to change. I began to pay attention in class, do my homework, study for tests, and participate in projects. I started to enjoy math, and to appreciate Mr. Lee's teaching. I also noticed that my grades improved, not only in math, but also in other subjects. I felt more confident, more motivated, and more happy. I also developed a good relationship with Mr. Lee, who became my mentor, my role model, and my friend.

By the end of the year, I had transformed from a lazy, rebellious, and indifferent student to a hard-working, respectful, and enthusiastic learner. I had also discovered my passion for math and decided to pursue a career in engineering. I thanked Mr. Lee for everything he had done for me, and he told me he was proud of me. He also gave me one last piece of advice: "Remember, discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. It is not easy, but it is worth it."

I then realized it pays to be disciplined.
