Answer:

x- intercept = 2

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

given slope m =
(1)/(2) and y- intercept c = - 1 , then

y =
(1)/(2) x - 1 ← is the equation of the line

the x- intercept is where the line crosses the x- axis

the y- coordinate of any point on the x- axis is zero

let y = 0 in the equation and solve for x

(1)/(2) x - 1 = 0 ( add 1 to both sides )

(1)/(2) x = 1 ( multiply both sides by 2 )

2 ×
(1)/(2) x = 2 × 1 , then

x = 2

the x- intercept is 2 or (2, 0 ) in coordinate form
