Point J is located at -12, and point K is located at -22.

How to find the locations

If point I is located at -17 on assuming a number line, and both points J and K are each 5 units away from point I, then:

Point J is 5 units, say to the right of point I.

Location of J = -17 + 5 = -12

Location of J = - 12

Point K is 5 units, say to the left of point I

Location of K = -17 - 5

Location of K = -22
