Δ ACB and Δ AED are similar triangles ( by the AA postulate )

Then the ratios of corresponding sides are in proportion , that is


(ED)/(CB) =
(AD)/(AB) ( substitute values )


(h)/(0.9) =
(6+12)/(6) =
(18)/(6) = 3 ( multiply both sides by 0.9 )

h = 0.9 × 3 = 2.7 m
