adult's ticket = $20

child's ticket = $19

Explanation:

let adult's ticket = $x

and child's ticket = $y

according to the question:

3x + 4y = 136 (1)

2x + 3y = 97 (2)

subtracting equation (2) from equation (1)

3x + 4y = 136

2x + 3y = 97

x + y = 39

x = 39 - y (3)

substituting value of x from equation (3) into equation (2)

2(39 - y) + 3y = 97

78 - 2y + 3y = 97

y = 97 - 78 = 19

x = 39 - 19 = 20

thus,

price of adult's ticket = $20

price of child's ticket = $19
