You are asked to find the minimum or maximum of the quadratic function: f(x)=−2x^2+4x+1 and you use x= −b/2a to find the x-value.

what is b?
what is a?
what is the value of x?
what is the value of y?
is this a maximum or minimum?

Answer:

b = 4

a = -2

The value of x is 1.

The value of y is 3.

It has a maximum.

Explanation:

To find out if this is a maximum or minimum, you can examine the coefficient of the x^2 term (a). Since a = -2, which is negative, the quadratic function f(x) = -2x^2 + 4x + 1 has a maximum.

Don't know if im right but thats my best shot.
