The domain is all the values that the function can take on the x axis, in this case it would be all the real numbers:


domain\to(-\infty,\infty)

The range is all the values that the function can take on the y-axis. For this function it will grow from vertex to infinity:


range\to\lbrack-1,\infty)

Remember that when intervals are written, parentheses are used for open values and square brackets for exact values.
