Quadrant one is (x,y)
Quadrant 2 is (-x,y)
Quadrant 3 is (-x,-y)
Quadrant 4 is (x,-y)
Given (-9,-8) this point would fall on Quadrant 3 because it is (-x,-y)
Hoped this helped!

Answer:

Both x and y are negative, so it's in quadrant 3
