Answer:

y-8=-4(x-0)

Explanation:

first, you would find the slope, using the equation y2-y1/x2-x1

I'm using (1, 4) as my 2 and (0, 8) as my 1.

4-8/1-0 = -4/1 = -4

-4 is the slope

You'd make a point-slope equation (y-y1=m(x-x1) using this information.

you'd use one of these points (i'm choosing (0, 8)) for this equation.

plug in -4 into m (m represents the slope)

plug in 8 to y1, and 0 to x1 (y1 and x1 represent your chosen ordered pair)

You will get y-8=-4(x-0) for the sake of the equation. If you don't care about the equation's feelings, you would get y-8=-4x for solving purposes.

your teacher cares though, unlike you.
