During the late 19th and early 20th century, significant changes ensued in politics, values, and beliefs. One problem that grew was the rise of imperialistic beliefs, many nations sought to expand their empires leading to the exploitation of many regions. This, though, was solved by international organizations like the League of Nations where they aimed to promote peace nationwide. Problems surrounding racial discrimination was very rapid during these eras with discrimination, and segregation in many countries, particularly in the United States. Civil rights movements in the States thrived to fix this issue, by addressing racial discrimination and promoting equality of all. Many people’s beliefs were also challenged with the rise of scientific discoveries along with secularism. This was tackled with the development of religious tolerance.
