x = -7

y = -12

Explanation:

This equation doesnt have much room to do much algebraically because of the imaginary numbers. The best way to solve this equation is to split it up into real and imaginary parts.

-2x is real, and 14 is real

-yi is imaginary, and 12i is imaginary

this gives us two equations to work with


-2x = 14\\x = -7\\and\\-yi = 12i\\-y = 12\\y = -12
