Eq 2 : y = 7x + 15

So

Take eq 1 and solve for x

⇒ x = y/2 eq 3

Put eq 3 in eq 2

y =7 (y/2) + 15

y - 7y/2 = 15

( 2y-7y )/2 = 15

-5y/2 = 15

-5y =30

y = -6

And put value of y in eq 3 to find x

x = -6/2

x =-3
