Find the slope and then use the slope intercept form and one point to find b

m = (-9-6)/(1-(-4)) = -15/5 = -3

y = mx + b
y = -3x + b
Use (-4, 6) and substitute for the x & y

6 = -3(-4) + b
6 = 12 + b
-6 = b

Y-intercept is -6
