You throw an egg downward with an initial velocity of 1 m/s. As soon as it leaves your hand, it is also subject to free-fall acceleration downward.if it hits the ground 1 second later, how far did it fall?

The egg fell 5.9m.

Free-fall acceleration means that only gravity is acting on the egg. The acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. We are not using a negative sign, as everything in this problem has a direction in the negative. Use the kinematic equation shown in the picture and plug in the values. y is the displacement in the y direction. V0 is initial velocity, t is time, and a is acceleration.
