this can be found several ways

here is one

sin Φ = oppositle leg / hypotenuse = 2/12

Φ = angle = 9.594 degrees

tan (9 .594) = slope = .169

Another way : use Pythagorean theorem to find the other leg of the right triangle

12 ^2 = 2^2 + leg2 ^2

leg2 = sqrt ( 14^2 - 2^2 ) = 11.832 ft

slope = rise / run = 2 ft / 11.832 ft = .169 as before
