Tai needs to get internet for her new home. Verizon charges a one-time setup fee of $45 plus $69 per
month. Comcast does not have a one-time setup fee and charges $78 per month. How many
months would Tai need to pay for the total cost of Verizon to be LESS THAN the total cost of Comcast?

The options are:
at least 6 months
at least 5 months
at least 4 months
at least 3 months

Answer:

6 months

Explanation:

Comcast charges $9 more per month than Verizon. So the the one time setup fee of $45 is covered in 5 months (45/9). After 5 months the total charges paid to both verizon and comcast is equal.
