First Distribute the 4 on the left side of the equation like this.

4t - 28 = 12 - t

NEXT!!!!!! Combine like terms by adding t to both sides of the equation like this.

4t + t - 28 = 12 - t + t

5t - 28 = 12

Then Move the constant term to the other side of the equation by adding 28 to both sides like this.

5t - 28 + 28 = 12 + 28

5t = 40

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!!!! Solve for t by dividing both sides of the equation by 5 like this.

t = 40/5

t = 8
