Answer: D.

The first equation is missing a + or a - after x

Step-by-step explanation: if the second equation is multiplies by 3, it will become 6x + 9y =72

Assuming you meant
4x + 9y = 8

-
6x + 9y = 72

____________

-2x + 0 = -64 => x = -64/-2 => x = 32

Substitute x in the first equation
4(32) + 9y = 8 => 9y = 8 - 128 => 9y = -120 => y = -40/3
