Answer:

Given that to solve

a) 2(q+4)=16

we get,

\begin{gathered} 2\mleft(q+4\mright)=16 \\ 2q+8=16 \end{gathered}
2q=16-8
2q=8

Dividing 2 on both sides we get,

q=4

Answer is: q=4

b)7j+2=12+5j

we get,

7j+2=12+5j
7j-5j=12-2
2j=10

Dividing 2 on both sides, we get

j=10

c) 12z=60-3z

we get,

12z=60-3z
12z+3z=60
15z=60

Dividing 15 on both sides we get,

z=4
