What is the correct formula for Nickel (1) Sulfide

Answer:

It's not possible but
Ni_2S?

Step-by-step explanation:

Nickel (i) sulfide shouldn't really be possible. Nickel doesn't exist with a +1 charge afaia so you can't combine it with sulfur to make this molecule. You need a positive nickel ion to bond with the negative sulfur ion.

Theoretically if
Ni^1^+ existed, this nickel (i) sulfide molecule would be
Ni_2S

You just swap charges of
S^2^- and
Ni^1^+

But this is a really unusual question. I would ask your teacher about it maybe?
