The solution of the equation is 4/9

We have,

2x - 8 (x + 1) = 6 (2x - 3)

Solve for x.

2x - 8x - 8 = 12x - 36

Combine like terms.

-6x - 8 = 12x - 36

Keep like terms on one side.

36 - 8 = 12x + 6x

28 = 18x

Divide 18 into both sides.

x = 28/18

x = 14/9

The solution is 4/9.
