So problem (25) what you have to do it put all the terms with the x variable on the same side of the equal sign and move all the constant terms to the other side of the equal sign (number with no x) to do this look at the sign on the x terms and you move either one you want if it has a minus sign then you must add the exact amount to both sides then if the term has a plus sign then you subtract that same amount from both sides then you can perform addition or subtraction on just the x terms and do the same for the constant terms for example - 5x 2 = - 12x + 26 if you add 12x to both sides you get - 5x + 12x + 2 = 26 now subtract 2 from both sides you get - 5x + 12x = 26 - 2 now just add and subtract the like terms meaning all numbers with x’s add/subtract each other all numbers without x’s add/subtract each other, so you get7x = 24 then to isolate x you divide both sides by 7 x = 24 you get x = 24/7 just remember the golden rule whatever you do on left side of the equal sign you have to do to the right side of the equal sign I hope this helps.
