v=6

Explanation:

4v+2=6v-10

subtract 4v on both sides (4v - 4v = 0; 6v - 4v = 2v)

2=2v -10

add 10 to the other side (2+10)

12=2v

divide by 2 on both sides to get v isolated (12/2 =6; 2v/2 = 1)

v=6
