\cfrac{2}{3}+y-\cfrac{1}{9}=\cfrac{7}{9}\implies \stackrel{\textit{multiplying both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{9}}{9\left( \cfrac{2}{3}+y-\cfrac{1}{9} \right)=9\left( \cfrac{7}{9}\right)}\implies 6+9y-1=7 \\\\\\ 9y+5=7\implies 9y=2\implies y=\cfrac{2}{9}
