We are holding our popular 'Why Walk?' annual event this April!
Last year over 5,000 people registered on our website to take part in
our fun campaign, and we aim to attract at least 6,000 participants
this year.
Where are we walking?
This year's walk takes place within the picturesque Derwent Valley of
the Peak District, covering approximately 8 miles.
Starting and finishing at Cromford Wharf car park, the walk
continues along canal paths and through woodland, taking in the
historical buildings of High Peak Junction, Leawood Pumping
Station and Lea Hurst on the way.
Refreshments are available at Cromford Wharf, High Peak Junction
and Arkwright's Mill, or bring along your own food to enjoy at the
canal-side picnic area.
