In a right triangle, a and b are the lengths of the legs and c is the length of the hypotenuse. If a=45 yards and c=75 yards, what is b? If necessary, round to the nearest tenth.

Explanation:

Pythagoras :

c² = a² + b²

75² = 45² + b²

5625 = 2025 + b²

b² = 3600

b = sqrt(3600) = 60 yards
