- 10x + 10 = - 6 ( subtract 10 from both sides )

- 10x + 10 - 10 = - 6 - 10 ( simplify both sides )

- 10x = - 16 ( divide both sides by - 10 )


(-10)/(-10) x =
(-16)/(-10) , then

x = 1.6
